The Dead Bolt is an amp-like overdrive pedal based on the JHS Superbolt. Consider this a zombie pedal, because the Superbolt has been discontinued.
What sets the Dead Bolt apart though, is you also have a toggle switch to take this thing into the super limited awesome Tacobolt land.
WHAT?! Yes, that's correct. Not only that, but the gain toggle remains from the stock version, so you also get a high-gain Tacobolt, which is not a thing. Until now. Wow.
How I use it: Personally, I run the Dead Bolt more like a preamp. I like to use it before a Fender-style amp, always on, giving me that "edge of breakup" flavor.
Features:
- Internal charge pump to run at 18V (plug in 9V DC ONLY)
- Top-mount jacks
- Controls: Boom (volume), Crash (drive), Flash (tone)
- Internal LED brightness trimmer
- Internal bias trimmer pairs - one pair for each JFET. The left side is the stock setting, while the right side is the Taco-bias. Mess with these at your own risk, I can't help you get it back to stock
